Nick Cordero probably needs a double lung transplant

Nick Cordero continues to face a difficult battle in his fight against the coronavirus.

After three months in hospital, Broadway star wife Amanda Kloots told CBS on Thursday that he would likely need a double lung transplant.

“We think it’s most likely the possibility. A 99% probability that he would need it to live the kind of life I know my husband would want to live,” she said on CBS This Morning.

However, receiving a transplant is not automatic.

“It is a long way to go and many things would have to be aligned for Nick to be a candidate for this,” she said.

In mid-May, Nick woke up after being unconscious for about six weeks due to complications from Covid-19.

The actor named by Tony has had many problems since entering the emergency room on March 30 and was intubated on a ventilator on April 1.
