Chinese Actor Li Yifeng Detained in Beijing for Solicitation – Deadline
Chinese actor Li Yifeng, whose credits include the pioneer and Mr Sixwas arrested by Beijing police for allegedly soliciting prostitutes on several occasions.
Citing an article posted on the Weibo account of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau on Sunday, the world times reports that Li was arrested on criminal charges and confessed to the crime. The office did not release his full name in his message, although CCTV later said he had confirmed it was the actor, citing “authoritative channels” sources.
Earlier, Li’s studio released a statement saying some comments on the internet about her personal life were just rumors. Li also reportedly posted on Weibo, where he has more than 60 million followers, saying the rumors had caused him emotional damage and affected his ongoing activities.
Those posts were quickly deleted and the related search terms also disappeared, local state-backed media said.
Several brands including Prada, Sensodyne and RemyMartin ended their partnerships with Li over the past day, according to their official Weibo accounts; none provided an explanation.
