‘The Crazy’ Whoopi Goldberg destroys DeSantis and misses a huge point

Audiences don’t look to “The View” for logic, facts, or reason.

It’s all emotion, straw man arguments and, well, disinformation. It’s still a constant draw, and has been since Barbara Walters created the “View” format in 1997.

This week, frontman Whoopi Goldberg once again explained why “The View” is catching eyeballs and rolling eyes.

“The View” offers a systematically one-sided vision of the political scene. The show features 3-4 rock-edged progressives who pounce on the news through a Democratic lens. Token “conservatives” rarely deliver rebuttals with the passion of Ann Coulter or Mollie Hemingway.

And it is not a hazard.

The show’s most intense moments in recent years have come with Meghan McCain, a smart, right-wing pundit who’s pumped the show’s punch. She eventually left, citing disagreements between her and her far-left co-stars.

And new “conservative” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin isn’t following in her bold footsteps.

This week, Goldberg lambasted Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a potential 2024 presidential candidate. The Republican governor, like Texas Governor Greg Abbott, has been send illegal immigrants from their states to “sanctuary cities” to illuminate the impact of these broken policies on communities.

Border states have suffered from the Biden administration’s “open borders” and governors want to show other states what it means to endure an influx of immigrants into their communities.

The aggressive policy quickly showed how hypocritical the leaders of the “sanctuary cities” are, crying over a fraction of what other states are enduring.

Now it’s time for ultra-liberals living in Martha’s Vineyard to feel the pinch. And Goldberg cries foul. She just can’t explain why.

They’re real people we were playing with, they’re real people alive with kids and old people, Goldberg said on Thursday’s episode of The View. We can work it out but if you’re gonna be a jerk, who wants to play with you? Call me crazy but I don’t understand why you have to be mean about it.

Calling someone a “bone head” doesn’t help much. It shows, however, that Goldberg can’t explain why DeSantis is wrong.

The “View” host admitted that DeSantis was trying to “make a point,” but she refuses to acknowledge how these policies harm American communities.

She won’t admit that virtue signals have consequences, or that border states suffer hugely from Biden’s policies.

So the caller name.

The Hill, reporting on the matter, also disagrees with the rationale for the DeSantis initiative. Shame on both parties.

The left Axios gets a little closer to the truth.

DeSantis appeared to target Massachusetts, which has a Republican governor, as state and local leaders expressed support for policies that benefit immigrants regardless of status.

A simple Google search finds the DeSantis argument.

That’s more research than Goldberg and co. can accomplish.

Then again, not even Reuters can uncover the truth.

Remember when “The View” lambasted Team Biden for such actions? Of course not, because that didn’t happen.

We need context and debate to discuss sensitive topics like this. The news media are no longer able to provide this service.

The worst place to find either is “The View”.
