Actor Ray Buffer accused of stealing $600 worth of comic books

Ray Buffer, an actor who played minor roles in High-speed train, american gigolo, and Calm your enthusiasmwas accused of stealing $600 worth of comic books from a San Diego store.

Southern California Comics alleges the store caught Buffer under surveillance stealing and hiding comics under his shirt last week. When they were able to confirm his identity, the store emailed the actor and offered him the option to return the property or they would contact the police. Buffer responded and “claimed we were harassing him,” Southern California Comics shared on Facebook.

The store has since passed all information to the San Diego Police Department, which is investigating the allegations. Jamie Newbold, owner of Southern California Comics, told EW the store would be filing a lawsuit against Buffer and alleged his store was not the only comic book store targeted by the actor, providing security footage purporting to show Buffer at Metropolis Comics in Los Angeles, taken at the end of September and provided by people who work at the store.

Metropolis co-owner Alania Rice also confirmed the incident to EW.

The San Diego Police Department and Buffer did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.

The actor had a string of small and uncredited roles in television and film. On TV, Buffer recently played a hitman in american gigolopolitician of Eat the Rich: The GameStop Sagaand a paparazzi cameraman in famous white, according to its IMDb. On the movie front, Buffer recently portrayed an uncredited “Russian thug” on High-speed trainwhich featured brad pitt, bad bunny, Brian Tyree Henry, Joey Kingand Sandra Bullock.
