Will Hollywood cancel Susan Sarandon for the same quote as Gina Carano?

Actress Susan Sarandon posted a photo referencing the Holocaust on Monday. Sarandon seems to suggest that if a particular political party takes control of the US Congress in November, America may slowly start to look like Nazi Germany.

“It didn’t start with the gas chambers. It all started with one party controlling the media. A part controlling the message. A part decides what is the truth. A party censoring speech and silencing the opposition. A party dividing citizens into “us” and “them” and calling on their supporters to “harass them”. It started when good people closed their eyes and let it happen,” the read message.

Sarandon did not reveal which part she was referring to. But with a long history of publicizing his progressive, often radical political views, we can assume.

Sarandon’s staunch leftist beliefs are a factor in the story given how Hollywood reacted when a conservative actress shared a similar message last year.

Susan Sarandon, Meet Gina Carano

In 2021, Gina Carano posted an even-toned photo alluding to how the hatred directed at political conservatives resembled the feelings the Nazis had toward Jewish people. Hollywood moved quickly in the case of Carano, who had starred in The Mandalorian. The company fired her the next day. Carano’s talent agency, UTA, dropped her hours later.

Hollywood deemed Carano anti-Semitic. Film studios ruled her out of further consideration. She now stars in films produced by conservative media company The Daily Wire.

Carano supporters are now curious to see if Sarandon will suffer a similar fate. Still, so far the entertainment industry has declined to comment.

Disney released a press release last year saying remarks like Carano’s have no place at the company. I understood.

On Tuesday, OutKick asked Walt Disney Co. if it plans to distance itself from Sarandon, who starred in several Disney movies. Unfortunately, Disney did not respond to our request.

We hope they will later.

The previous Pedro Pascal

But, of course, we know the answer. Sarandon gets a pass as per the previous one. May we remind you of Pedro Pascal, Carano’s former “Mandalorian” co-star.

Pascal once published an eerily similar analogy to Carano’s that referenced the Holocaust. However, Disney didn’t mind when Pascal, an avowed wokester, did:

Disney says it canceled Carano due to its intolerance of anti-Semitism. In reality, Carano had a target on his back. She had jokingly stated that her gender pronouns were “Beep/Bop/Boop” before her post. Disney was looking for an excuse to end all association with her. He found one under the guise of anti-Semitism.

Notice that Pascal declared himself a He/Him. Maybe that saved him. Likewise, Sarandon has a resume of liberal activism she can fall back on.

Social media posts don’t matter; The person who publishes them does so

Earlier this year, Sarandon shared social media posts comparing the NYPD funeral turnout to “fascism.” She despises the police. She considers them racist and a threat to civilization.

So if all those cops weren’t needed for CRIME that day, doesn’t that mean they aren’t needed ANY day? she tweeted above a post mentioning two officers killed.

The film industry doesn’t care about offensive tweets. He only cares who sends a supposedly offensive tweet. Hence the disparate reaction to Carano and Sarandon.
