Bhediya’s box office success is going to be very important for Bollywood to step back in the game after Drishyam 2. ‘Stree’ Amar Kaushik to come together because it’s a combo that could have guaranteed certain success in the pre-Covid era. What changed that?

Bollywood filmmakers delivering one dud after another is not only the only problem that has changed things, the excellence of many South Indian films like Pushpa, Vikram, RRR and Kantara has also been another reason to change things up for B-town.

Bhediya’s Day 1 box office collection would surely not be as big as one would have predicted after watching her teaser and trailer. Ajay Devgn’s “Drishyam 2” storm has also been a major reason why Varun Dhawan star is not raking in big numbers.

When the Bhediya trailer came out, many hoped it would definitely take a double-digit opening, but that continued to become a difficult task to pull off as the release date approached. According to the first trends, the star of Varun Dhawan won in the range of 7-9 crores at the box office on day 1.

Earlier, trade pundits predicted that the film could revolve around 11-13 hearts on Day 1, but Drishyam 2 was a game-changer, making audiences extra cautious to return to theaters for an uncertain project. It might pick up over the weekend depending on word of mouth from the public which might be better in plexes as single screens will still favor Drishyam 2.
