‘Twin Peaks’ actor Al Strobel, one-armed, dies at 83

Al-Strobel — an actor famous for his work in the “Twin Peaks” franchise — has died.

The news fell on Sunday thanks to the producer Sabrina Sutherlandwho worked with David Lynch on many projects over the years. She took to Facebook to write, “I’m sad to have to post that Al Strobel passed away last night. I loved him very much.”

No cause of death was provided, and no further details were provided.

Strobel is best known for playing the one-armed man on almost every episode of “Twin Peaks” – including the original early ’90s TV show, the spin-off movie afterwards, and the 2017 reboot… for which he always reprized his role as Phillip Gerard.

Gerard was a traveling shoe salesman who was sometimes possessed by a spirit known as Mike – who worked with another shady character (also dead) named Bob…the entity that inhabited Leland Palmer, who ultimately killed Laura Palmer – – the central character.

His character jumps in and out of the plot a lot throughout the entire “TW” saga… and has often been featured in bizarre dream sequences that Kyle McLachlanThe character of, Agent Cooper, would find himself in… all for the purpose of unraveling the great mystery of the murder.

Through it all…Strobel was always successful in his performances, which were a bit campy – but sooo good too. He was an amputee in real life… having lost his arm in a car accident.

Besides his role in “Twin Peaks”, Strobel has also starred in films like “Megaville”, “Sitting Target”, “Child of Darkness, Child of Light”, “Ricochet River” and more.

Strobel was 83 years old. RIP
