Kevin Costner’s wife files for divorce as Yellowstone actor admits ‘circumstances beyond his control’ led him to split

YELLOWSTONE star Kevin Costner and his wife Christine Baumgartner are set to divorce after 18 years of marriage.

Hollywood legend Kevin blamed “circumstances beyond his control” that caused him and Christine to divorce after having three children.

Christine, 49, filed on Monday, TMZ reported.

The clothing designer did not specify why she wanted to end the relationship.

Instead, she simply said the reason was simply “irreconcilable differences.”

A rep for Kevin’s team told TMZ that the divorce is a great sadness for the 68-year-old.

“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have arisen that have required Mr. Costner to participate in a marriage dissolution action,” the rep explained.

“We ask that his privacy, that of Christine and their children be respected as they go through this difficult time.”

The estranged couple share three children together: sons Cayden, 15, and Hayes, 14, and daughter Grace, 12.

Christine is only asking for joint custody of their children at this point in the split and not spousal support.

In a response that Kevin’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, 54, filed on his behalf on Tuesday, it was acknowledged that spousal support should “be payable to the petitioner” in accordance with their “prenuptial agreement”.

Additionally, in the response, it was explained that Kevin also wants joint custody of their children.

Christine was Kevin’s second wife.

FORMER MODEL AND PRESENTER

Kevin married Christine Baumgartner in 2004.

She was best known for her work with E! Live from the Red Carpet, Primetime and Die Johannes B. Kerner Show.

Christine is also a former model and current handbag designer who earned a business degree from CaliforniaState University.

While the estranged couple have three children together, Kevin himself is a father of seven.

His previous children are from his past relationships with Cindy Silva and Bridget Rooney.

Kevin’s other children are Annie, Lily, Joe and Liam.

It was revealed in 2012 that he and Christine almost didn’t get married because he wasn’t interested in having more children.

His role as patriarch of the Dutton family earned him his third Golden Globewin.

At the 2023 ceremony, Kevin won Best Actor in a Drama Television Series.
