Ray Liotta’s cause of death revealed for actor

The Freedmen’s Star Ray LiottaThe cause of death was revealed to be heart and respiratory issues nearly a year after the iconic stars passed away.

TMZ said that based on documents the outlet was able to obtain and see, Liotta’s cause of death was believed to be natural and non-violent. The documents cite respiratory failure, pulmonary edema (better known as fluid in the lungs), and acute heart failure. Apparently, the star also suffered from atherosclerosis, a condition of thickened arteries as a result of plaque buildup in the inner lining. Liotta died in his sleep May 26, 2022.

Prior to his breakout role as Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese Goodfellas, Liotta earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role as Ray Sinclair in Something Wild in 1986 and played Shoeless Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams in 1989. Liotta has also voiced the main character of the hit video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Tommy Vercetti.

At the time of his death, the star was in the Dominican Republic to shoot the movie Dangerous Waters. Liotta was 67 when he died last year. He was engaged to Jacy Nittolo and left a daughter, Karsen.
