Popular Bollywood actor Ashish Vidyarthi, who has dabbled in villainous roles in Hindi cinema, married Rupali Barua from Assam in an intimate ceremony on Thursday, May 25.

The veteran actor, who has worked in many film industries, was born on June 19, 1962 in Delhi. In a career that began in 1986, Ashish Vidyarthi has appeared in a number of Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, English, Odia, Marathi and Bengali films.

He has so far contributed to nearly 300 films in 11 different languages. In his first film Sardar, based on the life of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Ashish Vidyarthi portrayed VP Menon.

However, Drohkaal, for which he had already received a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1995, was his first film.

He is particularly known for his performance in 1942: A Love Story as Ashutosh. For the 1996 film Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin, Ashish Vidyarthi also won the Star Screen Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role.

In over 300 films, Ashish Vidhyarthi has acted in 11 different languages. The well-known actor married Rajoshi Vidyarthi, an Indian actor, singer and theater artist.
