‘Woofstock’ returns to Schenectady’s Mohawk Harbor on Sunday; Festival, APF fundraiser to feature music, food and dogs
SCHENECTADY – For dog lovers and music fans, Schenectady is the place to be on Sundays thanks to Woofstock.
The festival and fundraiser, hosted by the Animal Protective Foundation, will feature live music from Twenty Ninety-Six and DJ RVMBA at the Mohawk Harbor Amphitheater. There will also be an activity zone, food trucks, Druthers Brewing Company beer, wine and more.
The day will begin with a walk-a-thon at 10:30 a.m. The festival itself will run from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
This is the second year for the event, which raises funds for the work of APFs in providing medical care, housing, food and support for dogs, cats and other pets in need. The festival is the organization’s second largest fundraiser.
We were so happy to be able to bring back Woofstock, along with a walkathon, to help raise money for pets in need across the Capital Region, said APF Director of Development Cassandra Metke. It’s a big community gathering that brings animal lovers and their four-legged friends together for a day of fun.
There will be 30 vendors, many of which are dog/pet focused, including Oh My Fabulous Dog, Spoiled Dog Boutique, Two Dogs & A Cricut and more. The festival will be hosted by WTEN Steve Caporizzo and his wife, Lisa.
There’s something for everyone in your family, Metke said.
And it’s probably the biggest event of its kind in the area where you can bring your well-behaved dogs, added APF executive director Joe Lisella.
