Bryan Cranston says he’ll be taking a break from acting soon

Actor Bryan Cranston has announced that he plans to take a break in the coming years to spend more time with his wife of three decades.

In an interview with British GQthe 67-year-old ‘Breaking Bad’ star said he plans to take a break in 2026, and possibly move to France with his wife Robin Dearden.

“I want to live this experience,” he said. “I want to go on day trips and have a fire in the fireplace and drink wine with new friends and not read scripts.”

“It won’t be like, ‘Oh, I’m going to read and see what I’m going to do.’ No, it’s a break. It’s a stoppage,” he added.

The actor told the magazine he wanted to put his wife of 34 years first after she supported him throughout his acting career.

“Cranston plans to shut down his production company, sell his half of Dos Hombres, and elope with Dearden,” the article reads.

“I want to shift the paradigm once again,” he told GQ. “For the past 24 years, Robin has lived her life holding my cock. She’s been the most one, she’s been a celebrity wife. She’s had to pivot and adjust her life to fit mine. “She gets huge benefits from it, but we’re unequal. I want to level that. She deserves it.”

Cranston said he wanted to live in a small village, learn French, and learn to cook and garden. He said he was excited to read books with his wife and “find new things to discuss over dinner.”

“It’s about taking a chance. I’m used to that feeling of not knowing,” he said.

In March, Cranston appeared on “CBS Mornings” to discuss the second season of his show “Your Honor”, his first series since the hit “Breaking Bad”.

Cranston said he was drawn to the show because of its compelling premise.

“What grabbed me was the conceit of the first season which was, ‘What would you do to save your child’s life? and the follow-up question is, “Would you willingly become a criminal if you thought it would save your child’s life?” and the answer is again ‘yes,'” he said.
