How did you prepare for the role of Waheeda In
Heeramadi
?

The SLB set is the most unpredictable set. You know magic is going to be created. As Manisha Koirala said, the foundation of the character has already been done by sir. We just had to trust his vision and implement it.

Since it is on the OTT platform, you get a chance to get to know the character in every scene and episode. You're much more in character because you're shooting for several days. And I am more of an instinctive actor, so I appreciate the essence of a character every day by doing something different and Sanjay Leela Bhansali trusted me for that. Everyone knows he is brilliant with his creative mind and honesty towards his craft. And you are in good hands and you should give over 200% more than you actually do.

On changing cinema. As an actor, I think it’s a great time for artisans. What is your view on this?

I think there is a huge change. And thanks to the pandemic, audiences have had great exposure to world cinema. OTT is one of those platforms that is fearless when it comes to different content. He has an appetite for the public. And I would say content is king.

As a viewer too, I want to watch a well-made story and whether it is oriented towards men or women is not the question.
