Veteran actor Talat Hussain passes away in Karachi – Pakistan
Veteran television and theater actor Talat Hussain died in Karachi on Sunday at the age of 83.
Hussain, born September 18, 1940, died after a prolonged illness, according to state broadcaster PTV said in a job on the social media platform
Pakistan Arts Council (ACP) Karachi Chairman Ahmed Shah also confirmed Hussain's death, adding that the actor had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi for a long time.
In a statement, Shah recalled that the actor had a deep connection with the ACP as he remained a member of its governing body. An acclaimed actor like Talat Hussain was born after centuries, he said.
The ACP President highlighted that Hussain had also received the Sitara-i-Imtiaz Award for his work and unique acting style. Praying for Hussain, Shah said he stood with the actor's family in their times of grief.
According to PTVHussain began his career in the 1960s. He decided that he needed to hone his skills further and moved to England in 1972 to study acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Tributes and condolences poured in from politicians and actors as Hussain was remembered for his work.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sadness over the death of Hussain, PTV said in a job on X. The Prime Minister recalled that Hussain was a legendary actor whose dialogues were well known at one time.
His services to Pakistani television, theatre, cinema and radio will always be remembered. The void left by his death can never be filled.
Acting President Yusuf Raza Gilani also expressed immense grief and prayed for the deceased.
In a statement shared by his party on X, he said Hussain's invaluable services will always be remembered.
Talk to Geo Newsactor Behroze Sabzwari recalled his experience working with Hussain and praised his services to the theater industry.
Praising Hussain's dialogue, Sabzwari said, “I don't remember how many times I tried to speak like Talat.” bhai in dramas but I can't.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, in a statement issued by his spokesperson Abdurrasheed Channa, described the actor as a shining star as he prayed for his top brass.
Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz also conveyed her grief and sympathies to Hussain's family. He was one of a kind, she said in a statement shared by his party on X.
Former Sindh governor Ishratul Ebad said he was saddened to learn of Hussain's death. A legendary figure in radio, television and cinema. He will be remembered for his contributions to the arts, said on X.
Former PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry also expressed his sadness: saying: A legend is gone.
He was an actor par excellence and an institution. We will miss you Talat Sahib, said filmmaker Furqan T. Siddiqui.
