'Speed' Actor Joe Morton on Board for 3rd Movie, If Vehicle is Right
Joe Morton I would love to find Sandra Bullock And Keanu Reeves for a 3rd “Speed” film… but is not yet sold on the plot, TMZ has learned.
The actor told TMZ…that he would love to be a part of “Speed 3,” after Sandra and Keanu both expressed interest in a reboot of the franchise. However, Joe – who played Lt. Herb “Mac” McMahon in OG – says there are big questions that need to be answered before signing on for a new film.
He adds… “'Speed' was a wonderful roller coaster ride; the bus had to go through town and jump a gap in a bridge and couldn't go below 50 mph or it would explode — that's what the vehicle of 3?
As Joe says…the vehicle is the key to the film's success – explaining that the boat in “Speed 2: Cruise Control” didn't really work.
Remember, even Sandra criticized the subsequent film, saying TropFab in 2022… “I've talked about this a lot. It doesn't make any sense. Slow boat. Go slow to an island.”
Vehicle questions aside… Joe says there's a lot to tie up if a third movie were to happen.
He continues… “Keanus' character was involved because he foiled Dennis Hopper's plan to blow up a building. Who is the new villain? Is Jack still a cop? What is the connection between the villain and Keanu?”
Joe saves his most important question for last… asking if Sandra and Keanu's characters were romantically involved before “Speed 3.” FWIW, we wonder the same thing!!!
Actor suggests looping original screenwriter Graham Yost so that “Speed 3” can actually overtake “Speed”.
His result is clear… “If he is, count on me!”
