An actor accused of attempted murder. A makeup artist was stabbed
Nick Pasqual, a background actor on “How I Met Your Mother,” was arrested at the U.S. border after being accused of repeatedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend, makeup artist Allie Shehorn, the U.S. Bureau confirmed. Los Angeles District Attorney.
On May 23, around 4:30 a.m., Pasqual allegedly broke into Shehorn's Los Angeles home and stabbed her multiple times. She was later hospitalized with serious injuries. Shehorn's credits include “Rebel Moon,” “Family Switch” and “Babylon.”
After the attack, Pasqual reportedly fled the scene and was later arrested at a U.S.-Mexico border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. The court issued a $1.07 million arrest warrant against the actor. He will be extradited to Los Angeles County where he will face charges. If convicted as charged, the maximum sentence would be life in prison.
According to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, Pasqual is charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of first-degree residential burglary in the presence of a person and one count of injury to a spouse, common-law partner, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend or parent of a child.
Shehorn had recently filed a restraining order against Pasqual for domestic violence. By the Los Angeles TimesA Los Angeles County Superior Court judge approved the restraining order, but it is unclear whether Shehorn served it on Pasqual before the attack.
On the day of the attack, Shehorn's co-workers were concerned when she didn't show up to do makeup for an independent horror film she was working on.
In the restraining order, Shehorn said Pasqual physically assaulted her in the home they shared before May 23, including slapping her, breaking down doors, banging her head against the floor and sexually assaulting him.
According to the LA Times, Shehorn underwent emergency surgery after the May 23 attack and remained in intensive care for several days.
His friends Emily MacDonald and Jed Dornoff launched a GoFundMe to help with medical and living expenses necessary for Shehorn's recovery. Dornhoff posted a message Tuesday saying, “Allie has been removed from intensive care. She is still determined not to give up and continues to push through pain to heal.
