On The Hill gallery will close its doors on June 13

YORKTOWN Yorktown Arts Foundation will close On The Hill gallery in historic Yorktown on June 13.

The foundation announced in March that representatives of the Colonial National Historical Park had delivered documents to leaders of the Yorktown Arts Foundation (YAF), ordering them to cease operating the gallery and vacate the historic Burcher Cottage property, located in 402, rue Principale.

The concession agreement we signed a decade ago with the National Park Service that allowed the Yorktown Arts Foundation to operate the On The Hill Gallery at Burcher Cottage is coming to an end, said Kathleen Wahl, President. from the Yorktown Arts Foundation. We look forward to developing a request for proposals and beginning the process of leasing Burcher Cottage, consistent with National Park Service policy,” Colonial National Historical Park said in an email to WYDaily in April.

With or without a physical home, the Yorktown Arts Foundation says it will continue to fulfill its mission of promoting appreciation of the arts through education and awareness.
