ICYMI: Yorktowns Free Summer Concert Series Begins June 6

YORKTOWN The Yorktowns Sounds of Summer concert series begins Thursday, June 6 at Riverwalk Landing in historic Yorktown.

Thursday evening concerts take place from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. until August 15, except July 4, and all concerts are free.

The Uptown Band kicks off the series, followed by a lineup including rock n' roll, R&B, pop, beach and country.

The 2024 program includes:

• June 13 The Main Event group
• June 20 The Nashville Nights Band
• June 27 outage
• July 11 Gentlemen and their Lady
• July 18 Les Embers
• July 25 InsideOut Band
• August 1st Band of Oz
• August 8 The Deloreans
• August 15 Slap

Visitors are encouraged to arrive before the concerts begin and enjoy dinner or dessert at one of Yorktown's historic waterfront restaurants, including Water Street Grille, Carrot Tree, Umi Sushi, Ben & Jerrys and Yorktown Pub .

According to York County Public Affairs, the Sounds of Summer concert series includes a dance floor, cornhole and food trucks. Guests are allowed to bring their own blankets, chairs and small coolers. Tables, umbrellas and tents are not permitted. Spectators may bring their own alcohol, but it must be consumed within the designated concert area.

Free parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing parking deck, York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, County Administration Building and other designated public parking lots.
