'The French Connection' Actor Tony Lo Bianco Dies at 87

Tony Lo Bianco, known for his roles in crime films The Honeymoon Killers, The French connection And The seven-ups, is dead. He was 87 years old.

The Tony Award-nominated actor died Tuesday (June 11) of prostate cancer at his horse farm in Poolesville, Maryland, his wife Alyse confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lo Bianco also continued to work on stage, playing New York politician Fiorello H. La Guardia in Paul Shyres' one-man show. Hizzoner!which earned him a New York Emmy Award, a TV movie adaptation and a brief appearance on Broadway in 1989.

His 100+ film credits include 2022's most recent comedy Somewhere in Queensdirected by and starring Ray Romano.

Lo Bianco has received awards for her humanitarian efforts within the Italian-American community, including the Order of the Sons and Daughters of Italy in America. He is survived by Alyse, his wife since 2015, as well as several children and grandchildren.
