Police uncover chilling details of actor Darshan's involvement in murder case

Chilling details have emerged in the murder investigations against popular Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa. The case pertains to the murder of Renukaswamy, who was found dead in a drain in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Darshan, known to his fans as 'Challenging Star', was arrested from his farmhouse in Mysuru on Tuesday. His co-star and girlfriend Pavithra Gowda and 11 of his aides were also arrested.

Pavithra Gowda has been named as the key accused in this case and Darshan as the second accused.

1. Renukaswamy, who lived in Chitradurga, allegedly made lewd comments on Pavithra Gowda's social media posts, after which she instigated Darshan to punish him, news agency PTI reported citing police sources.
2. Darshan hired Raghavendra alias Raghu, the head of his fan club in Chitradurga, to gather information about Renukaswamy, they said. The victim's wife also claimed that it was Raghu who came to pick him up near their house.
3. The report states that he was kidnapped and taken to a shed in Kamakshipalya in Bengaluru. Darshan allegedly beat Renukaswamy in this shed with a belt while his assistants beat him with sticks until he lost consciousness. He was pinned against a wall and suffered multiple bone fractures all over his body, the PTI report added.
4. The victim's body was allegedly thrown into a storm drain. Dogs were munching on his body when a food delivery man noticed and alerted the cops.
5. Darshan and Pavithra Gowda are not cooperating or hiding the facts, the Karnataka police told the court on Tuesday in its remand application, news agency IANS reported citing sources. A hunt is also on to find four other accused.

Reactions to Darshan's arrest

Darshan's fans are in shock and disbelief after revelations that their favorite star might be involved in such a gruesome crime. They gathered outside the police stations where Darshan was being interrogated, forcing the cops to lathi-charge them.

The police were given carte blanche to take action against Darshan and other accused as per the law, state Home Minister G Parameshwara said.

Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) president NM Suresh spoke of taking action against Darshan after a discussion with the artists' union, most likely after the cops filed a chargesheet in this affair.
