Pradeep K Vijayan passes away: Thegidi and Hey Sinamika actor found dead at home by friend

Actor Pradeep Vijayan, who has played villain and comedian roles in various films including Thegidi and Hey! Sinamika, was found dead in his home on Wednesday. The actor's friend found him dead when he went to see him after two days with no response. Police are investigating the cause of death and have not yet released an official statement.

Actor Pradeep was unmarried and lived alone in First Sankarapuram Street in Palavakkam, Chennai. He recently complained of shortness of breath and dizziness. One of his friends went to see him after not getting a response from Pradeep for two days despite calling him several times.

The door of the house was locked and as Pradeep did not open the door despite repeated knocks from his friend, the police were informed. The Neelankarai police and fire brigade broke down the door of the house. Pradeep was found dead with head injuries. Police took the body to Royapettah Government Hospital.

Pradeep reportedly died two days ago due to head trauma and a heart attack. However, the Neelankarai police are investigating the cause of death and the body will be subjected to post-mortem.

After the news broke, people took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their condolences. Singer-actor Soundarya Bala Nandakumar wrote, “Ok, this is a shock. I loved him very much as a brother. Pradeep, popularly known as Pradeep Nair Pappu, made his debut in Tamil cinema with Krishnan Jayaraj directorial Sonna Puriyathu in 2013. He rose to fame when he played Poornachandran (Sadagoppan) in Ashok Selvan (2014) by P Ramesh and Janani starrer Thegidi. He played a detective in the film and his sense of humor made him stand out.
