A film crew was in Greenville last Wednesday to shoot a segment that is scheduled to air nationwide on PBS in September in an episode of the short-form documentary series Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid.
The project was announced by Micah McBay, Greenville's community engagement director, during a city council work session last Tuesday.
As the segment is being edited, a five to six minute video package as well as shorter video packages of two to three minutes and 30 seconds must be completed and sent to the City of Greenville for purposes promotional.
We're looking at this from two angles, McBay said. One is tourism, and that’s how I got involved. The other is to promote the city itself to business owners and residents to say, “Hey, Greenville is growing.” Were on the edge of the Metroplex. You should come here and grow with us.
For nearly 20 years, the Viewpoint Projects production team has produced short documentaries on a wide range of topics, including: organic wine production in Napa Valley, peace initiatives in Nigeria, and the shortage of skilled workers in the welding industry.
Viewpoint's special guests included actor Gary Sinise, former US Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Colin Powell, and 41st President of the United States George HW Bush.
