Darshan murder probe: Kannada actor likely to be taken to Mysuru to recreate crime scene
Popular Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, arrested in connection with the murder of his fan Renukaswamy, 33, is likely to be taken to Mysuru to recreate the crime scene, as part of an investigation into the case.
Renukaswamy allegedly sent obscene messages to Darshan's friend Pavithra Gowda on social media, which infuriated the 47-year-old actor, police said. He was reportedly kidnapped and found murdered on June 8.
Police have so far arrested 19 people, including Darshan and Gowda, for Renukaswamy's murder.
A police team probing the murder case has probed a private club in Bangalore where Darshan and other accused were allegedly partying when Renukaswamy was brought to the city, officials said on Monday.
The pub is owned by Vinay, also an accused in this case and a friend of Darshan.
Meanwhile, another Kannada actor, Chikkanna, has been summoned by the Bengaluru police for questioning in the case.
Chikkanna, 37, who mainly appears in comic roles, was allegedly with Darshan on the night of June 8, when the crime was committed. Chikkanna was reportedly with Darshan before the actor went to the shed where Renukaswamy was being held and tortured.
Police suspect that after locking Renukaswamy in the godown, the accused returned to the pub to discuss another course of action.
