Darshan Murder Case: Renukaswamy Case: Investigation Reveals Actor Darshan Pooped During Murder of His Wife's Fan
While the recovery of the moccasins could be considered crucial evidence, a senior police officer revealed that after disposing of Renukaswamy's body in the early hours of June 9, Darshan went to Renukaswamy's apartment. Vijayalakshmi in Hoskerehalli.
“He performed puja with her before going to Mysuru from where he was arrested on June 11,” the officer was quoted as saying by TOI.
Summoned by the police, Vijayalakshmi presented himself at the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station and gave a statement on Wednesday.
According to TOI sources, she was questioned for almost five hours. The interrogation focused on his knowledge of the kidnapping and murder of Renukaswamy, any details that Darshan might have shared about the incident and what happened during his visit to his apartment after the murder.
She was specifically asked who brought the moccasins to her home and why, and whether the shoes had been washed or used by anyone else after their arrival. Vijayalakshmi answered all the questions and her statement was recorded. Darshan's assistant costume designer, identified as Raju d'Attiguppe, allegedly delivered Darshan's clothes, shoes and other personal belongings to her after the incident. Vijayalakshmi is likely to be treated as a witness unless additional evidence suggests she was harboring evidence, a TOI source said. Darshan, Gowda and his 17 aides were arrested and charged with the murder of Renukaswamy of Chitradurga on June 8 for allegedly sending obscene messages to Gowda.
According to the autopsy report, Renukaswamy's death was caused by shock and hemorrhage resulting from multiple blunt injuries sustained by him.
One of the accused, Raghavendra, who is part of Darshan's fan club in Chitradurga, had brought Renukaswamy to a shed in RR Nagar here on the pretext that Darshan wanted to meet him. It was in this hangar that he was allegedly tortured and killed, PTI reported citing sources.
The investigation team has reportedly gathered enough evidence, including CCTV footage, which could establish that Darshan was present during the alleged assault on Renukaswamy, which led to his death, sources told PTI.
