Legendary actor Donald Sutherland dies at 88

Hollywood is mourning a huge loss.

Donald Sutherlandwhose acting career spanned more than seven decades, his son and fellow actor died on June 20 Kiefer Sutherlandconfirmed. He was 88 years old.

“Personally, I think he is one of the most important actors in the history of cinema,” Kiefer wrote of his father in a Instagram post from June 20, on a black and white image of the two24 “Never intimidated by any role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and you can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.”

Although Kiefer did not share the cause of death, Donald's agency CAA said in a statement to NBC News that he died after a long illness.
