With E3 a distant memory for a few years, major console manufacturers have been presenting their upcoming programming at their own events for several years.
While Sony presents very few new titles for the months and years to come, Xbox just had its own show and managed to get gamers excited about the brand again. Let's discuss the games that were presented to players.
Sea of Thieves previewed the upcoming Season 13 update in July. This upcoming update will allow players to become villains with all new content from the long-running online game. If you weren't a fan of the gamebefore, this latest update probably won't appeal to you.
Starfield: Shattered Space is the brand new expansion coming to the console this year. This expansion showed a new horror vibe with new locations and a darker appearance.
Personally, I can't wait to dive into the world of Starfield when the new expansion launches. There's also a free update live today that adds new content in the form of bounties…and more for free.
State of Decay 3 showed off a new cinematic trailer that doesn't really give players any more information or even a vague release date.
Microsoft Flight Simulator introduced new content involving helicopters, jet fighters, hot air balloons and more.
World of Warcraft: The War Within featured a cinematic trailer, but not much else.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 showed off gameplay and a cinematic trailer. The Black Ops series is my favorite in the Call of Duty universe. The game will be available from day one of Game Pass.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard showed off a trailer that features a strange visual art style compared to previous games. The gameplay seemed more action-oriented than previous titles.
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred is the first expansion for the game this year.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure is the latest game in the series with a cool look and certainly fantastic story. This game is definitely on my radar and will be played later this year.
Flintlock is an upcoming action game that felt like a fast-paced, magic-fueled adventure. Flintlock comes out in July this year.
South of Midnight showed off more cinematography and, for the first time, gameplay. The characters and animation make the game stand out, as does the voice acting. Combat felt fast and fluid, making me want to learn more about the game with each launch.
Fable showed more cutscenes, with the humor and magic the series is known for. We have a 2025 release date and not much more.
Perfect Dark was a major surprise. The game looked fantastic with a dynamic world and tons of gadgets and technology. The game really made me want to know more.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle gave us more cutscenes and gameplay. This seems like the perfect game for Indiana Jones fans with great combat and a solid story. The game will launch later this year.
Expedition 33 is a new turn-based RPG with a heavy dose of French inspiration. This game has its own style which attracts the player.
Gears of War: E-Day. Gears fans were treated to a trailer for the upcoming game set during the events of Emergence Day.
Doom: Dark Ages introduced the upcoming game set in medieval times. With the fast-paced combat and gore that the series is known for, Doom Dark Ages should be another great game in the series.
Overall, Xbox had a stellar showcase with a ton of upcoming games to keep gamers busy.
