Carano family sells Sonoma County winery for $7.9 million
A Geyserville estate owned by the family behind the Caesars Entertainment casino and hotel empire and Ferrari-Carano Winery is on the market for the first time in more than 40 years.
The Home Ranch, a nearly 60-acre resort located at 1499 Moody Lane, is listed at $7,975,000. It features a four-bedroom main residence, a two-bedroom guesthouse, a pool house, a two-story barn, Alexander Valley Chardonnay vineyards and dozens of olive trees.
Purchased in 1981 by Don and Rhonda Carano, co-owners of the Eldorado Hotel and Casino in Reno at the time, the property was the original location of the couple's first wine label, Carano Cellars, which a few years later became late Ferrari-Carano. Vineyards and cellar.
As the couple built a wine empire in Sonoma County, they also expanded their casino empire, opening the Silver Legacy Resort Casino next to the Eldorado in 1995 and acquiring Circus Circus Reno in 2015.
