Historic Disney-themed cafe in Hollywood abruptly closes | YourCentralValley.com

Snow White Cafe, a Disney-themed restaurant and bar located in the heart of Hollywood and in business for over 75 years, appears to be gone for good.

Located at 6769 Hollywood Boulevard, next to the Hollywood Wax Museum, this vintage cafe opened in 1946. It served classic American fare with a wide selection of draft beers in a unique fairytale setting.

The cafe featured a mural of Snow White above the door with the message “We hope you liked it, Discover Los Angeles.” reported. There were also paintings of the dwarves from the film on the wall which, like the Snow White mural, were created by real Disney animators.

The cafe was opened by a friend of Walt Disney, who asked Disney animators to paint murals on the walls, restaurants website said. The murals depict scenes from the film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and are still on display today.

With a read-only Facebook caption, Goodbye Snow White Cafe, Los Angeles Vintage has posted at least one photo that appears to show the interior of the restaurant completely gutted and, from what can be seen in the photo, the iconic Snow White murals are gone.

Calls to the iconic Hollywood restaurant have been directed to a number that appears disconnected.

A call to the nearby Hollywood Wax Museum on Sunday didn't yield much information, but an employee confirmed that the restaurant, which lists its hours as 12 p.m. to midnight daily, would be open as normal.

KTLA also emailed Snow White Cafe and is awaiting a response.

If reports of restaurant closures are true, this will be the second iconic Hollywood restaurant to close this month. THE Arby's Roast Beef franchise at 5920 Sunset Boulevard closed after 55 years in business.
