Actor Darshan's co-star Pavithra Gowda seen wearing makeup in police custody, cop demanded explanation in Renukaswamy murder case

The Karnataka Police have issued a notice to a sub-inspector for allowing Kannada superstar Darshan's jailed partner Pavithra Gowda to wear makeup in police custody, sources confirmed on Wednesday.

On June 15, Pavithra Gowda was taken to her residence to record the details of the crime scene in Bangalore. During this visit, Pavithra Gowda was seen applying lipstick, makeup and smiling while returning from her residence with the police personnel.

The incident sparked a debate over whether Pavithra Gowda showed any culpability for the murder of Darshan's fan Renukaswamy.

A notice was issued to the SI by the DCP (West) office and clarifications were sought.

Meanwhile, Pavithra Gowda's mother and daughter met her at the central jail and sources said she collapsed during the visit.

On the other hand, the authorities gave orders to seize two American-made pistols owned by Darshan, sources revealed.

His associate Pradosh, also in jail in this case, has a pistol. Both have licenses and have been officially exempted from keeping weapons with them during the Lok Sabha elections.

Instructions were given to the jurisdictional police of RR Nagar and Girinagar to seize the weapons from the residence of the accused.

Darshan, Pavithra Gowda and 15 others were arrested for the murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a resident of Chitradurga.

Investigation revealed that Renukaswamy, a big fan of Darshan, had sent derogatory messages to Pavithra Gowda on social media.

The victim was allegedly kidnapped, taken to Bangalore, held in a shed and tortured to death.

Darshan is in judicial custody till July 4.
