Universal Studios Hollywood Calls on the Ghostbusters for This Halloween Season
Universal Studios Hollywood will be “calling in” the Ghostbusters this Halloween season as ghosts and creatures from the iconic film franchise haunt guests at this year's Halloween Horror Nights.
The new haunted house, which will debut at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 5, will be based on the latest film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
Fans will be transported to New York City, where the Spengler family teams up with the original Ghostbusters. After discovering an ancient relic that has unleashed the vengeful spirit of Garraka, the Ghostbusters will join forces to fight their common enemy.
As visitors venture into the haunted houses, they will find themselves in the sinister world of the supernatural, from Rays Occult Books to the Ghostbusters' new high-tech lab and containment facility to New York City's dank sewer system, a press release said.
Fans will embark on this petrifying journey alongside the Ghostbusters, encountering iconic ghosts and nefarious villains who seek revenge while trying to escape an army of horrifying creatures hell-bent on breaking bones and turning veins into rivers of ice.
As in the movies, the new haunted house will be a mix of horror and humor.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire haunted house is the second maze based on a popular Hollywood film franchise to join Universals Halloween Horror Nights lineup.
Earlier this month, Universal announced that a new haunted house based on the Paramount Pictures films A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place 2 would be coming to HHN this fall.
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood will take place on select nights from September 5 through November 3. Guests will experience eight new haunted houses, spooky scare zones and the iconic Terror Tram.
All ticketing options, including the RIP Tour Premium Passes and Frequent Fear and Ultimate Fear, are available for purchase on the theme park websitePrices range from $77 for general admission and up to $389 for premium tickets.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Haunted Mansion will also be available at Universal Studios Orlando for its HHN season, which begins August 30.
