“The Daily Show” And Jon StewartThursday's live post-debate coverage delivered Comedy Central's highest-rated late-night TV show of the year among 18-34 year-olds.

The June 27 show averaged a 0.256 rating and 2.84 share, up 212% and 154%, respectively, compared to Stewart's quarter-to-date average rating of 0.082 and a share of 1.12. Additionally, it scored 0.337 among 18-49 year olds and 0.468 among 25-54 year olds, the highest since March, and quarter-to-date increases of 23% and 27%, respectively. The share of 18-49 year olds increased by 5% to 2.39 and that of 25-54 year olds increased by 10% to 2.47.

On social networks, “The Daily Show” was the most watched entertainment program across all channels on Thursday with 4.2 million views, up 35% compared to the first debate in 2020, and the most watched episode watched since 2022.

The show was part of The Daily Show’s ongoing coverage of the 2024 election, dubbed “Indecision 2024.” Additionally, The Daily Show will host a second live show on Tuesday, September 10, and will host a full week of programming for the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee from July 15-18, as well as a full week at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago from August 19-22.

After a year of rotating hosts, Stewart returned to the “Daily Show” in February, achieving the show's best ratings since 2015. Under his current contract, Stewart will host the show on Mondays for the duration of elections and will remain executive producer of all episodes until 2025. He will have the option to continue as executive producer after that date.

“The Daily Show” airs weekdays at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central and is available the next day on Paramount+ and Comedy Central Video On Demand.
