Anurag Kashyap, who is actively promoting his latest series Bad Cop, recently recalled an anecdote from the time he spent a night in jail. The filmmaker-turned-actor of the series shared in an interview that he had to spend a night in a police cell for “slapping the wrong person”.
In a conversation with Samay Raina on his YouTube channel, the director-turned-actor said, “Yes, I went to jail. I slapped the wrong person. Someone you're not supposed to hit. I spent a night in prison. The man who put me in prison is the same man who completely changed my life. He's the one who got me out. » Anurag said the man who made him spend a night in jail was impressed that Anurag was standing up for the right cause.
Although the filmmaker did not share the details of the incident, it came as a shock to both his co-star Gulshan Devaiah and the interviewer.

Last year, while promoting his film Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat, the filmmaker, in an episode of Unfiltered with Samdish, recalled the time he was arrested for drunkenness in Saudi Arabia.
He said: “There were no flights from Denmark because of the volcanic ash. I was very exhausted, drank some wine and went to get my ticket. I had to wait five hours. I went to the living room and started drinking because I wanted to pass out. I sat on the plane and passed out. I landed in Saudi Arabia, they arrested me because I was completely drunk on Saudi territory. They started to question me.
Apart from Bad Cop, Anurag Kashyap was also seen in the Tamil film Maharaj starring Vijay Sethupathi.
