NEWS: Disney CHANGES reopening date of Rock n Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

Surprise! We have some good news that might brighten your day. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, one of the park's most popular attractions has been closed, closed, and closed for what seems like FOREVER. But now, the reopening date has changed!

Yes, we're talking about Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, which has been closed since January for extended maintenance. However, depending on the Disney World calendar, the reopening date could be earlier than expected!

If you've visited Disney's Hollywood Studios recently, you may have noticed that Sunset Boulevard is pretty quiet. Especially the area near the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, as there's not much to do in this quiet corner of the park since the ride isn't available. Even the gift shop is closed!

So why the extended closure? Well, Disney noted that the ride would be closed for routine maintenance, but given the length of time the ride will be closed, we hope this ride will be bright, smooth, and shiny when it reopens. We hope to not experience any “technical difficulties” for a while.

For a long time now, the Disney World website has stated: “This attraction is expected to reopen in the summer of 2024.” But summer is a great part of the year!

In May, the Disney World website was updated to show Rock 'n' Roller Coaster operating hours starting June 27, 2024. But now it appears the reopening date has been CHANGED! In fact, the website now says the ride is open July 1st! It's only a few days away.

The timing is perfect, as we expect Disney World to be packed around the July 4th holiday. The more attractions that are operating, the more the crowds will be able to spread out throughout the park!

If you were hoping to snag some behind-the-scenes passes, it looks like you won't have to wait too long! Keep in mind that Disney may update the website if the renovation schedule suddenly changes, but we'll keep an eye out for any news.
