Bollywood Actor Sushimita Sen's life took a dramatic turn early last year when she suffered a heart attack It almost cost her her life. However, like a phoenix, Sushmita made a remarkable recovery and has since never missed an opportunity to express his gratitude for being alive.
Recently, Sushmita surprised her fans by changing her date of birth on her Instagram bio to February 27, 2023. She called it her “second date of birth”, a move her fans were quick to recognize as a tribute to the day she survived the heart attack. The Bollywood star has now revealed a video, produced in collaboration with a pharmaceutical company, explaining why she considers this date her 'second date of birth'.
“My life is a story that I have acted and lived. But sometimes, a twist can appear in the story. During a shoot, I suffered a massive heart attack. It was the longest 45 minutes of my life. There was a moment when I thought my story was over,” Sushmita can be heard saying in the video, which also features old pictures of the actor with his loved ones, including his daughters.
“But thanks to my doctors. It is thanks to them that my story continues. They didn't give up on me or let me give up. They wrote a new story for my life and gave me a new direction. February 27, 2023 was my second birthday. I dedicate this day and my story to all doctors,” she added.
The #SecondBirthDate initiative was launched to allow people to express their gratitude to doctors who have had a profound impact on their lives. Along with Sushmita Sen, actor Manisha Koirala has also joined the initiative, which involves updating her date of birth on social media and sharing personal stories.
Sushmita Sen, 48, underwent angioplasty and had a stent inserted in her heart in February after suffering a massive heart attack while shooting for Aarya 3. “I have always been in love with life, I still am and I always will be. I think that's one of the reasons why it was difficult to take me like that, she said in a conversation with The Indian Express Last year.
“It made me realize that I had very important tasks to complete. And I need to be more aware of what I still need to do. You don't come back from an episode like this in good health. It's been four months since the heart attack and I feel great. Everything that happened after that (a pause), there's a reason why I'm still here. So let’s make it count,” she added.
