Beetlejuice Pop-Up Experience Coming to Ovation in Los Angeles – Daily News
The richest ghost is coming to Los Angeles, baby.
Tim Burton’s macabre cinematic universe will be coming to theaters this summer with a new interactive experience. The event, hosted by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and Fever, will officially open Friday, August 23 at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles. The 11,000-square-foot experience will open ahead of the highly anticipated sequel to the 1988 film, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” which is set to hit theaters on September 6.
Tickets for the event go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3. Prices start at $25 at fever.com.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: The Afterlife Experience” will take visitors on a journey through film-filled touchpoints.
Upon entering the otherworldly space with live entertainment and replica sets, visitors will be able to “knock three times to reveal a portal and step through the threshold to the afterlife, where the one and only Beetlejuice awaits alongside a cast of eclectic ghosts,” according to the press release. Fans will be able to sit in the waiting room next to a pair of ghosts, get a cover photo in the Handbook of the Recently Deceased, and possibly come face-to-face with the Sandworm. Themed food and drinks will be available, as well as a selection of spooky souvenirs for fans to purchase at the Afterlife gift shop.
The latest film, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” comes out nearly 35 years after the original film. The film follows three generations of the Deetz family as they reunite in Winter River, Beetlejuice's last known location, amidst tragedy. Lydia (Winona Ryder) rediscovers her model of the Connecticut town in the attic, reopening the portal once more.
Michael KeatonRyder and Catherine O'Hara are reprising their roles for the sequel, joined by Jenna Ortega, the scream queen best known for her role as Wednesday in the 2022 Netflix series. Ortega will play Lydia's daughter, and Justin Theroux will play Lydia's husband. Monica Bellucci has also joined the cast, playing Beetlejuice's ex-wife, and Willem Dafoe will play Wolf Jackson, a ghost detective and former B-movie action star.
