Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan to get 2024 career achievement award

There are plenty of superlatives that apply to Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, especially when it comes to his commercial success. He will be seen in person in Locarno in August. The 77th Locarno Film Festival then paid tribute to him for his entire body of work.
Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan will be at the 77th Locarno Film Festival. The Indian superstar is receiving the Pardo alla Carriera. On August 10, he will receive the award for his life's work on the Piazza Grande.
“Baadshah”, or in German, the emperor of Bollywood – that's what Shah Rukh Khan is called in India. Next August, he will come to Locarno. Giona A. Actor Shah Rukh Khan has appeared in over a hundred films over the past three decades, including musicals, crime films and historical dramas. He began his career in television before moving into film. In 2002, he founded his own production company Red Chillies Entertainment, which has become one of the largest in the Hindi film industry.
Shah Rukh Khan's awards include 14 Filmfare Awards, the Padma Shri from the Government of India and the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the Legion of Honour from the Government of France.
Shah Rukh Khan gained worldwide fame with films such as the romantic thriller “Baazigar: Betrayed Love” (1993), the romantic drama “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” (1995) and the love story “Kuch Kuch Kuch Hota Hai And Suddenly It's Love” (1998). His most recent films include “Pathaan”, “Jawan” and “Dunki”, which released in 2023 and were huge commercial successes.
At the 77th Locarno Film Festival, which runs from August 7 to 17, the film “Devdas by Sanjay Leela Bhansali” (2002) will be screened as part of the tribute program. The film star will also be introduced to the public on August 11.
