Kildare actor Paul Mescal's company doubles profits amid growing Hollywood stardom

Mescal's background in Gaelic football may have helped him land his role in Gladiator Two.

Profits at the entertainment company owned by one of Kildare's most sought-after Hollywood actors, Paul Mescal, doubled last year to €309,051.

New accounts filed by Mescal’s Castle Dawson Pictures Ltd reveal a significant increase in after-tax profits for the 12 months to October 2023.

The company's profit was €309,051, an increase of 86% compared to the previous year's €165,658.

As of the end of October 2023, Castle Dawson Pictures Ltd had accumulated profits totalling €474,309. Despite this impressive financial performance, the company did not distribute any dividends last year. In contrast, a dividend of €99,861 was paid to Mescal in 2022.

He told Vanity Fair that he spent about 10 minutes talking about the sport with director Ridley Scott when he offered him the role.
