Marvel fans are expecting a number of eye-popping cameos in the upcoming “Deadpool and Wolverine” movie, but one X-Men actor has already been revealed: Aaron Stanford will be making his return as Pyro. The actor appeared in the official trailer for “Deadpool and Wolverine,” much to the delight of fans. Stanford made his debut as John Allerdyce, aka the mutant Pyro, in 2003's “X2: X-Men United” and reprised the role in 2006's “X-Men: The Last Stand.” Now, he's back after an 18-year hiatus and “really happy” with how he turned out.

“I was just really happy to have a suit,” Stanford said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly about his return as Pyro. “In the original 'X-Men' films, Pyro really gets shortchanged in terms of costume.”

“In X2, we start with Pyro at Xavier’s school for gifted mutants,” he explained. “The SWAT team breaks in in the middle of the night and we have to run. So for half the movie, I’m in my pajamas. I never had the cool leather tactical suit that all the X-Men wear. And in X3, I was just dressed in a Hot Topic outfit, basically. So the fact that he’s wearing an actual superhero costume that was actually from the comics was really cool.”

While “Deadpool and Wolverine” director Shawn Levy said Weekly Entertainment While there are plenty of cameos in his film, he stressed that the team behind Marvel's flagship film “didn't want the cameos or the characters to be part of the story of the movie. But they're everywhere.”

“There are a lot of characters,” he added. “The Internet is full of rumors about the multitude of character cameos in this movie. Some of the rumors are true, some of them are completely false.”

Tyler Mane, who played Sabretooth in the original “X-Men” film in 2000, joins Stanford as the returning X-Men in “Deadpool and Wolverine.” A clip from the new film confirmed that Wolverine, played by Jackson, will face Sabretooth at some point in the film.

“Deadpool and Wolverine” hits theaters July 26 from Disney.
