Actor Darshan's wife opens up about relationship with Pavithra Gowda: 'I am his only wife'
Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa's wife Vijayalakshmi Darshan on Thursday clarified her husband's relationship with Pavithra Gowda. Both Darshan and Pavithra have been arrested in connection with the case murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy.
Vijayalakshmi stated that she was the only legally married wife of Darshan Thoogudeepa.
In a letter to the Bengaluru Police Commissioner, she claimed that Pavithra Gowda, the main accused in the murder case, is not Darshan's wife, contrary to media reports and statements by authorities.
“It has been almost two weeks since your department arrested my husband Darshan and others in the Renukaswamy murder case. While I have full faith in our judicial system, I believe the law will take its own course,” Vijayalakshmi wrote.
She stressed the need to correct misinformation regarding Pavithra Gowda's relationship with her husband.
Vijayalakshmi said, “It is true that she is a friend of my husband Darshan Srinivas, but you may note that she is not his wife. I am the only legally married wife, our marriage was solemnized in Dharamshala on May 19, 2003.”
In her letter, Vijayalakshmi stated that Pavithra Gowda was allegedly married to one Sanjay Singh and had a daughter with him. Vijayalakshmi urged the authorities to correct the documents to avoid any future legal or personal complications for her and her son.
Notably, Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was arrested on June 11 for his alleged involvement in the Renukaswamy murder. Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan, allegedly sent obscene messages to Darshan's co-star and friend Pavithra Gowda, who was also arrested in the case.
