Doctor calls actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu 'health illiterate', she responds

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has released a lengthy statement on her social media account after a doctor, Dr Cyriac Abby Philips, also known as 'The Liver Doc', slammed her and called her 'health illiterate' after she posted about the use of nebulised hydrogen peroxide.
Taking to her Instagram account on Friday, Samantha posted a lengthy statement asking the doctor to be polite.
The actress, who was recently diagnosed with myositis, explained that she had “merely suggested” the hydrogen peroxide nebulisation with “good intention” as it had been recommended by a “highly qualified doctor”.
In response to the Liver Doc's harsh comments, Samantha wrote: “It would have been kind and compassionate of him if he hadn't been so proactive in his comments. Especially the part where he suggested I should be thrown in jail. Whatever. I guess that's part of being a celebrity. I posted as someone who needs medical attention, not as a celebrity.”
“It would have been nice if he had politely invited my doctor, who I tagged in my post, rather than attacking me. I would have liked to learn from this debate and discussion between two highly qualified professionals,” the actress added.
Dr Philips had previously slammed Samantha for recommending nebulising hydrogen peroxide, calling her “health and science illiterate” and saying the practice “is dangerous to your health”.
“Indian influential actress Ms. Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is unfortunately illiterate in health and science, advises millions of her fans to inhale hydrogen peroxide to prevent and treat respiratory viral infections,” the award-winning doctor wrote on X.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Samantha is gearing up for Citadel: Honey Bunny alongside Bollywood heartthrob Varun Dhawan. This upcoming web series is an Indian adaptation of the Russo Brothers' Citadel, which originally starred Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden.
In addition to this, Samantha will star in Bangaram, a film that she announced on her birthday this year. This project is particularly important for her as it marks her debut as a producer.
