Kris Jenner Announces She Will Have Ovaries Removed After Doctors Discover Tumor
Kris Jenner has announced that she plans to have surgery after doctors discovered a tumor on one of her ovaries.
The 68-year-old reality TV star matriarch shared the news during Thursday's episode of “The Kardashians.” One scene shows her on vacation in Aspen with her daughters Kim, Khlo and Kendall, and her boyfriend, Corey Gamble.
“I wanted to tell you something because I haven’t told you this yet. You know, I went to the doctor and I had my scan. They found — and I’m really emotional about this — a cyst and a small tumor on my ovary,” Jenner said, fighting back tears. “I’m really emotional because they were helpful to you.”
She then tells her loved ones that doctors have advised her to have her ovaries removed and that she will have them removed.
“This is where all my children were conceived and this is where they grew up – in my womb – and so it's a very sacred place for me,” she adds in a confession.
Kourtney and Khloé FaceTime with Jenner to give an update on her eldest daughter. Her daughters express concern for their mother.
“I couldn’t even imagine being in that situation and how scared I would be to go through that,” Kim says.
Jenner says she's ready because she loves her doctor. But she also admitted she's nervous.
Listen, if I could get through the hip replacement, I can get through this, Jenner said. I'm not nervous about being put to sleep. I'm not nervous with Dr. A. — he's the best doctor in the world. But then you do it and you're like — this is so real.
She added that she felt it was a sign of aging.
“It's a whole chapter that has just closed,” she said.
Kendall says she understands her mother is upset, but she stresses that she doesn't need her ovaries.
“What good are they going to do to us now?” Kendall asks. “If they’re going to hurt you, let’s get them out of here.”
They also joke with Kim, “Should we have an ovarian farewell party?”
On a more serious note, Jenner says pregnancy has been her “most beautiful experience” in life. She says she knows she's “going to be okay” because she has her kids.
“People often ask me what the best job I’ve ever had is, and I always say, mom,” she says. “The greatest blessing of my life has been being able to give birth to six beautiful children.”
