Community Actor Takes Responsibility For Film Delay To Protect Co-Star

In September, it will be two years since it was announced that the promise of six seasons and a movie for the sitcom would finally come to fruition.
US streaming service Peacock shared the news seven years after the series ended in 2015, revealing that creator Dan Harmon would be overseeing the project and since then it has been revealed that all of the main cast, with the exception of Chevy Chase, will be returning.
While Jeff Winger stars Joel McHale, who often makes guest appearances on hit series The bearsaid in March 2024 that he would be shocked if the film didn't get made this year, he has now provided a disappointing update for fans.
I don't have a definitive update because we thought for a while that this was all going to happen this year, and then it didn't, he said. GQ.

When asked when he thought the film would begin shooting, McHale replied, “I would say loosely, next year. What do you think?”
The actor also denied suggestions that the delay was caused by Donald Glover, who returned with a new Childish Gambino album earlier this year; Glover's stock has increased significantly since then. Community completed in 2015.

Hale confirmed that Glover would return as Troy for the July 2023 film, saying: The fact that we even convinced Donald to do it… that was the key thing.
He also said that Shirley Bennett actress Yvette Nicole Brown would be returning for the film. I think everyone will be back. So far, so good.
Stars confirmed to return include McHale, Glover, Brown, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong.
Chevy Chase, who played millionaire Pierce Hawthorne on the series, is unlikely to return, with Harmon having previously suggested that it may not be legal for him to return.
Chase's time on the show was riddled with behind-the-scenes drama. The actor, 80, left Community during his fourth season, after allegedly making racist remarks toward Glover.
Chevy was the first to realize how incredibly talented Donald was, and the way he expressed his jealousy was to try to get rid of Donald, Harmon said. The New Yorker in 2018. Communitywhich follows a group of students at a community college, ran for 110 episodes over six seasons, and aired its finale in 2015. A release date for the film has not yet been announced.
