Stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame have been vandalized, including that of Selena Quintanilla.

Texan singer Selena Quintanilla's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was vandalized twice earlier this week. The reasons are still unknown.
Three stars were covered in what appeared to be black paint. The stars were dedicated to Quintanilla (known as “La Reina del Texano”) and Jenni Rivera (known as “La Diva de la Banda”) as well as Heinie Conklin, a silent film era actress.
Jenni Rivera's star was vandalized 24 hours after Quintanilla's.
Rivera's stardom was revealed just weeks ago at a June 27 ceremony with his family. The Mexican-American singer-songwriter died in a plane crash in December 2012.
The Quintanilla star rose to fame in 2017. She met a tragic end at the age of 23 when Yolanda Saldivar murdered her in 1995.
Quintanilla's star was vandalized for the second time, Ana Martinez, vice president of media and talent relations at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, told the Los Angeles Times that police reports have been filed and clean-up crews have been dispatched.
Fans took matters into their own hands to clean Rivera's star. Videos of the artist's followers cleaning the star circulated on social media.
Martinez took to Instagram to thank people, expressing in a post: Thank you to the fans who tried to clean the star and reported it. Keep in mind there are cameras everywhere.
Just because someone defaced her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame doesn't mean it stopped shining, Rivera fan Marisela Santana told the Los Angeles Times. “I'm glad people took it upon themselves to clean it up immediately.”
After the second act of vandalism of Quintanilla's star, Martinez reported that many other stars had been damaged in the same way. Conklin's was among the stars affected along with those dedicated to Quintanilla and Rivera.
On Instagram, Martinez shared posts showing that the stars had been cleaned.
