Spanish Fork Fiesta Days kick off with a host of events leading up to Pioneer Day | News, Sports, Jobs

The Spanish Fork Fiesta Days will kick off many events this week, including the popular Fiesta Days Rodeo.

Most activities will begin Friday, with the craft fair, food vendors and carnival opening at 4 p.m. and the first night of the Fiesta Days rodeo at 7 p.m. The Spanish Forks Got Talent event will also take place Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

Events earlier in the week include a baking contest at 6 p.m. Tuesday and a baby contest the same day at 3 p.m.

The Fiesta Days Rodeo will run for five nights, July 19-20 and July 22-24. Some tickets are still available but are selling quickly.

The rodeo, an annual staple in Spanish Fork, will feature classics like bull riding, barrel racing and team roping. Saturday night will feature PRCA Xtreme bull riding for the sixth consecutive year.

Saturday will begin with a car show at 8 a.m. at Spanish Fork Sports Park and the children's parade at 9 a.m., which will take place on Center Street.

Food vendors, a craft fair and carnival will also be open all day Saturday, and a street dance on Center Street will begin at 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday, local folk group Lincoln Highway will perform at City Park starting at 7:30 p.m.

On July 22 and 23, the carnival and craft fair will continue at 4 p.m., as well as two other rodeo evenings and entertainment in the municipal park starting at 7:30 p.m. both evenings.

Pioneer Day, July 24, will be a busy one with a 10K race starting at 6:30 a.m. Registration for the 10K race is open through Friday. The Spanish Fork High School Student Council will host a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. at City Park, the breakfast will cost $5 and the funds will go toward student activities.

The Grand Parade will begin at 9 a.m. at 900 East and Center Street and proceed west to Main Street.

The carnival and food vendors will open at 10 a.m. and remain open until 11 p.m. Various shows and entertainment will take place in the municipal park from 11 a.m. until the afternoon.

The final rounds of the rodeo will begin at 7 p.m. A pre-fireworks concert will be held at the Parc des Sports at 8 p.m., and the fireworks show will begin around 10 p.m. once the rodeo is over.
