Vivek Oberoi says he became a salesman at 10 thanks to his father: It could be electronics, perfumes; I would keep the profits | Bollywood News
Vivek Oberoi became an actor in the early 2000s but in recent years it has been focusing on his entrepreneurial journey. In a recent interview, the actor said that he was a budding businessman since the age of 10 and his father had trained him to be an entrepreneur even before he started his acting training. Vivek said that when he was just 10, his father, veteran actor Suresh Oberoi, would supply him with goods and he was responsible for selling them. He was allowed to keep the profits and had to reimburse the cost of the supplies to his father and that's how he learnt to keep accounts.
Vivek said that when he was still in school, every summer his father would bring him goods and encourage him to sell them using his skills. “The day school was over, the next day my father would get goods. It could be electronics, perfumes, all sorts of things. He would say the total value of these goods was Rs 2,000. How much can you get out of it? If I took goods worth Rs 1,000, whatever I earned beyond that would be mine and I would give my father Rs 1,000 back. I was 10 years old at that time,” he told Aaj Tak.
Vivek Oberoi said that he started learning to keep accounts at that age. He added, “If you sell your bike, how much money do you save? If you buy a car, how much do you spend? So I had a discipline about it and it kept increasing every year. Till the age of 15-16, my father used to make me do this every year.”

Vivek said that kids his age usually spend all their time gambling, but he learned how to earn money and “all this character was built from my father.” He added, “Since I was 15, I have only received blessings from my father.”
Vivek completed his schooling in New York where he learned acting. He then made his acting debut in Ram Gopal Varma's Company in 2002. He will next be seen in Masti 4.
