Patton Oswalt's 'Minor Threats' Comic Book Coming to Netflix for TV
Minor threatsthe hit comic book co-created by actor and comedian Patton Oswalt and writer Jordan Blum, is heading to television.
Netflix is developing the live-action adaptation, with Oswalt and Blum serving as writers, showrunners, and executive producers. Scott Hepburn, the artist who drew and co-created the title, will also serve as executive producer. The project is reportedly in development, according to sources.
Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg will serve as executive producers for Dark Horse Entertainment, the company that publishes the comic; Kasey Adler will oversee the project for the company. Dark Horse has a first-look deal with Netflix, which is home to the long-rumored adaptation of its comic book. Umbrella Academy.

The bitter Minor threats focuses on low-level supervillains who usually find themselves tied up outside a police station with a note reading: “Courtesy of your friendly neighbor Batman.”
The initial story subverted superhero conventions, beginning with the psychotic Stickman murdering the young hero Kid Dusk, sidekick to Twilight City's top vigilante, the Insomniac. As the vigilante hero's teammates turn the city into a police state in a desperate attempt to capture Stickman, the D-list's smaller villains find their lives upended. So, with a bounty on Stickman's head, a former villain assembles a ragtag team to find Stickman and kill him himself.
A swipe at superhero comics, the book, with its bold and clever take on the superhero form, proved to be a significant and surprising success for Dark Horse when it debuted in August 2022. After the initial story, a sequel followed, as well as two spin-offs, including Bar pillarthe first issue of which was released in stores at the beginning of July.
Netflix declined to comment.
Oswalt and Jordan previously created and presented Marvel's stop-motion animated television series, MODOK., airing on Hulu. Blum also served as a co-executive producer on the animated comedy American fatherwhile Oswalt is a prolific actor, comedian and writer with, frankly, too many credits to mention.
