Inside Out 2 is now the top-grossing animated film of all time at the global box office

Pixar Inside Out 2 blocked the release of another Disney Frozen II The Hollywood animated film is on track to become the world's biggest box office hit after closing Tuesday with $1.462 billion in revenue, adjusted for inflation. The film earned $601 million domestically, compared to $861.8 million internationally.

Disney Animations Frozen II reached $1.451 billion in 2019. It now ranks second on the list of all-time animated films, followed by Illumination and Universal's video game adaptation. The Super Mario Bros. movie. ($1.361 billion), the first Frozen ($1.274 billion), Pixar The Incredibles 2 ($1.242 billion), Illumination Minions ($1.157 billion), Toy Story 4 ($1.072 billion), Despicable Me 3 ($1.032 billion) and Finding Dory ($1 billion).

Among all the movies, Inside Out 2 has surpassed Warner Bros.' summer 2023 juggernaut. Barbie ($1.446 billion) on Monday, landing at No. 13 on the list of highest-grossing animated and non-animated films of all time. In other words, the Upside down The sequel is now the biggest film since Barbie was released in theaters a year ago.

Inside Out 2′Pixar’s historic summer box office success was arguably the biggest surprise of the season, given Pixar’s recent struggles and the turbulent market for family animated films at the box office. Families have become increasingly accustomed to waiting for a streaming animated film rather than going to the theater. Pixar’s troubles were compounded when three of its films were sent straight to streaming by the regime of former Disney CEO Bob Chapek. Upside down It was exactly the balm the famous animation studio needed.

There is one more step to take: Inside Out 2 is a few days away from exceeding The Incredibles 2 ($608 million) in the United States. They are the only two animated films to reach the $600 million mark in North America.

The film has become a cultural talking point about the emotional changes that puberty brings, and is championed by many educators and psychologists as a teachable moment.

Amy Poehler, who plays Joy, is the lead voice of the cast. The cast includes Maya Hawke, Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Ayo Edebiri, Lilimar, Grace Lu, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green, Adele Exarchopoulos, Diane Lane, Kyle MacLachlan, Paul Walter Hauser and Yvette Nicole Brown.

Inside Out 2which received critical acclaim and record-breaking audience ratings, has broken numerous records since its release in early June, including passing the $1 billion mark at the global box office in record time for an animated film, in just 19 days. Among animated films, it is the 12th film to reach this milestone. Disney dominates this list, claiming eight of these releases, both Pixar and Walt Disney Animation titles.

In 2015, Upside down reached a peak of $858.8 million worldwide.
