Emily Ratajkowski said photographer Jonathan Leder sexually assaulted her following a nude photoshoot in 2012, in an essay she wrote for New York Magazine Tuesday.
The model, now 29, recalled going to Leder’s home in the Catskills for an “unpaid editorial” shoot, in which she posed both in lingerie and without clothes , under the instructions of his former agent.
Ratajkowski, who said she was “very, very drunk” after drinking wine with Leder, said the photographer put his fingers inside her without her consent as they sat together on a sofa after the shoot.
“Most of what happened next was unclear except for sentiment,” she wrote. “I don’t remember kissing, but I remember his fingers suddenly inside me. Getting harder and pushing and pushing like no one has touched me before or touched me since. I could feel the shape of myself and my ridges, and it really, really hurt. “
Ratajkowski said she “pulled her fingers out” and “didn’t say a word” to Leder, who walked away. She said she spent the night in one of the rooms they used for the photoshoot.
“I was both confused as to why Jonathan left without a word and terrified to come back,” she wrote.
The photographer reportedly denied Ratajkowski’s allegations when contacted by a New York Magazine fact-checker, saying her claims were “too far-fetched and childish to answer.”
According to the outlet, he added: “You know who we’re talking about, don’t you? She’s the girl who was naked in Treats magazine! And bouncing naked in Robin Thicke’s video at the time- there. Do you really want someone to believe she was a victim? “
In a statement to Insider, a representative of Publishing Imperial Images, which Leder co-founded, wrote that the photographer has denied the model’s claims.
“We are all deeply disturbed to read Ms. Ratajkowski’s latest (false) statements to NY Mag in her relentless search for press and publicity,” the representative wrote.
Leder also said Daily mail that Ratajkowski’s claims are “totally false”.
The allegations come four years after Ratajkowski accused Leder of posting nude photos from the set without his consent
Several years after the shooting, Ratajkowski learned that Leder had published the photographs in a book called “Emily Ratajkowski” in 2016 without her permission. According to the model, he included some of the “most revealing and vulgar Polaroids he had taken from me.”
In a series of tweets, she wrote that she had tried to avoid talking about Leder but that she “had had enough” after learning of the book’s existence.
Ratajkowski added that the book and the use of the photos without permission was a “violation” and an “example of the exact opposite of what I represent”.

The Castor Gallery in New York also announced his intention to present the photos in an exhibition called “Polaroids”.
Her lawyer sent a cease-and-desist letter to Leder and the gallery, stating that they were not allowed the images because Ratajkowski claimed she only accepted one use for a magazine.
She said the gallery told her they signed a waiver from her, although neither Ratajkowski nor her former agent recalled signing documents.
“My lawyer and I called the next day with the agent, who was sure they hadn’t signed it.” It had to be false “, announced my lawyer. I felt my frustration growing. I knew that I had never signed I had never accepted anything. No one had asked me,” she wrote in the New York Magazine essay.
Leder’s legal team responded to Ratajkowski’s ban letter in a document currently published on the Imperial Pictures Publishing website, stating that “no written permission is required for the type of use of his name and likeness at issue here.”
The document stated that the gallery’s use of the photographs was protected by the First Amendment.
The Castor Gallery featured the photos in an exhibition titled “Polaroids” in 2017, and Leder continued to publish three books containing the photos.
“I couldn’t believe how many people had come despite my very public protest,” she wrote of the buzz.Polaroids“exhibition.
In an interview in 2017 with Highsnobiety, Leder commented on her tweets regarding her book, saying it would have been “smarter” for her to support the photos he took of her.
“I know a lot, a lot of people love these pictures, and in my personal opinion a lot of them are very beautiful. The people who love these pictures are her fans. She looks stunning and it was a moment. special in time, ”he said. .
Leder continued, “I guess they’re forgetting the 1st Amendment in Los Angeles. I don’t know why she would want to stop her fans from looking at those Polaroids. Who knows.”
Ratajkowski wrote that she discussed Leder’s lawsuit but decided not to.
“I’m not convinced spending more of my resources on Jonathan would be money well spent,” she wrote.
A representative for Jonathan Leder did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
