Jazz at the PUB

PORT ANGELES – The Peninsula College Jazz Ensemble will play "Jazz at the PUB" at 12:30 pm Tuesday.

The free concert will take place in the Pirates Union Building at Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

The program will include instrumental works by Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, John Lewis, Chuck Mangione, Booker T and the M.G.s and two new pieces by ensemble director David P. Jones.

The ensemble will be accompanied by singer Robbin Eaves for the interpretations of "It's all", "I like being here with you" and "I will be around".

Teenage lounge

PORT ANGELES – The North Olympic Library System will host a youth lounge from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The living room is open to youth ages 11 to 19 at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

The free program runs from Tuesday to June 9, except February 25.

"Earth to Kenzie"

PORT ANGELES – The Seattle Opera tour company will present "Earth to Kenzie" at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.

The one act opera will be presented at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

The opera, intended for children from kindergarten to sixth grade, features music by Frances Pollock and a libretto by Jessica Murphy Moo.

A booklet, Italian for "little book", contains all the words and staging of a lyrical production.

Senior dance

PORT ANGELES – Cat’s Meow will perform for a swing dance from 6.30pm to 8pm Tuesday.

The dance will take place at the Port Angeles Senior and Community Center, 328 E. Seventh St.

Refreshments are served from 8 p.m. at 8:30 p.m.

Admission is $ 5 per person; new participants are admitted free of charge.

Start in progress

PORT ANGELES – Peninsula College will host a Running Start information evening at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

An information session and roundtable are scheduled at the college’s Little Theater on the Port Angeles campus at 1502 Laurisden Blvd.

Running Start is a program that allows high school students and seniors to earn university credits without tuition fees.

An optional campus visit is scheduled at 6.30 p.m.

"Peter Pan"

PORT ANGELES – The production of “Peter Pan and Wendy” will continue with a performance at 7:30 pm Tuesday.

The play will be performed at the Port Angeles Community Playhouse, 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

Production continues until March 8.

Tickets for the midweek performance are $ 8 at the door.

SEQUIM

Estate planning

SEQUIM – Kitsap County lawyer Richard Tizzano will present "Age Your Way" from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday.

The free estate planning and life care seminar will take place at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.

Tizzano will discuss the roles of Medicare, Medicaid and long term care insurance; maintain quality of life; local aging and retirement communities; protect wealth from taxes and uncovered medical costs; and estate planning and additional needs trust planning.

The fruit club meets

CHIMACUM – The North Olympic Fruit Club will hear a presentation on fruit tree transplant at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The “Graft Your Own Fruit Tree” program will be presented at the club meeting at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

PORT HADLOCK

Tech Tuesday

PORT HADLOCK – Library staff will present “iPad Basics 1” from 3 p.m. 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The class is part of the Tech Tuesday series at the Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave.

Participants will learn the basics of using an iPad, including navigation, updating, and managing device settings.

Technical staff will present “iPad Basics 2” on Tuesday March 10.

Technical staff will be available from 4 p.m. at 6 p.m. after class for walk-in technical assistance with phones, tablets, or other devices.
