The Fisher-Price Toy Museum was inspired by the idea that whether you’re born in the 1950s, 1980s, or 2000s, everyone has a memory of their favorite childhood toy, and many of them are from Fisher-Price, said Chuck Scothon, SVP and Global Head of Infant and Preschool, Mattel. The intention of this museum is to take visitors back to their unique childhood experiences and give them the opportunity to relive their youth, even if only for a few moments.
At the museum, the heritage of Fisher-Price toys will be fully exposed. In honor of the brands’ anniversary year, the museum will feature over 90 different exhibits that will be organized by decade, making it easy for visitors to locate vintage toys from their childhood. The collection will include a variety of classic products creatively presented by artist, set designer and photographer Leila Fakouri, who has strived to keep toys as the star of every environment while incorporating dimension and texture to create an authentic atmosphere of Museum. Exhibits include Snoopy Sniffer, which was launched in 1938, and sits atop a slice of manufactured blueberry pie, the iconic roller skates, which were first introduced in 1983, and are featured in a miniature ice rink, and many others.
Accompanying the museum, a souvenir shop offers 16 products that celebrate the brands’ timeless toys. Items from the gift shop, which will be available in limited quantities, include a Doctor Doodle t-shirt, Space Blazer socks, laces depicting the brand’s classic roller skates, and a lunchbox with images of vintage figurines. by Little People.
